From the very beginning, God created man in His own image — not as a robot, but as a being with the capacity to think, choose, and act. Within every human lies a divine gift: the power of will. This is the ability to decide, to determine, and to bring forth results by choice. It is one of the greatest demonstrations of how much God values man.
When God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness…” (Genesis 1:26), He didn’t just refer to physical form. He meant likeness in nature — in reasoning, creativity, and authority. To be in God’s image is to have the capacity to will and to act upon that will, just as God does.
God Himself never forces His will upon man. Throughout Scripture, we see Him invite, instruct, and guide, but never control. Why? Because He gave man a sovereign gift — choice.
This means you can purpose a thing in your heart and pursue it until it manifests. You can decide to change your life, your community, even your nation — and heaven recognizes that will.
Genesis 11 gives us a fascinating revelation about human will. The people said:
“Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens… so that we may make a name for ourselves.”
— Genesis 11:4 (NIV)
They united in purpose, in language, and in determination. And God Himself observed:
“Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.”
— Genesis 11:6 (KJV)
Did you catch that? God Himself acknowledged that nothing would be impossible to them once they had purposed it. Their will, though misdirected, was so powerful that God had to confound their language to stop them.
This moment reveals something divine: the power of human will, once united with purpose, is unstoppable. It was not God’s idea that they build that tower — yet their collective will was enough to set it in motion. That means man’s will is potent, even when misused.
Now, imagine a person who is not only human but also born of God — one whose spirit is renewed and whose mind aligns with Christ. The Bible says:
“We have the mind of Christ.”
— 1 Corinthians 2:16
If the old man — limited, fallen, and earthly — could imagine and accomplish anything he purposed, how much more the new creation, who carries God’s Spirit within?
When your will is surrendered to God, it becomes a channel of divine expression. Your thoughts align with His, and your desires become God’s desires manifested on earth.
Jesus said:
“If you can believe, all things are possible to him that believes.”
— Mark 9:23
Belief is a product of will. It is the decision to agree with God. When a believer wills in harmony with God’s purpose, creation responds. The same creative power that formed the universe begins to flow through that will.
To walk in this power, you must understand two things:
God does not override your will — He works with it. He invites you to choose, to believe, and to act in faith. Your will becomes unstoppable when it aligns with His Word. Because when your desire flows from His Spirit, heaven backs your every move.
So don’t say, “If God has not willed it, it can’t be done.”
Instead, understand that God has already willed for you to will.
He has empowered you to dream, to create, and to bring forth fruit — spiritually, mentally, and physically.
The tower of Babel shows us what man can do apart from God. The cross shows us what man can do with God.
When your will is yielded to Him, your possibilities are limitless. You become a co-laborer with God — expressing His mind, establishing His kingdom, and transforming your world.
So today, rise in faith and declare:
“I have the will of God in me. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
